The past few months of the Boafo Beauty Blog internship have been so much fun! Learn about my experience as a Boafo Beauty Intern this summer.
I can’t believe I’m already writing this, time flies too fast. This internship was a blast and I hope you loved reading my posts and the other writers' posts as much as I loved writing them for you all this summer.
This internship was so unexpected, and I’ve learned so much from it. I never expected to actually apply for a writing job because I never considered writing as a career path. I took an intro to journalism class and absolutely hated the structured writing, with all those tedious rules. I was always more into creative writing and poetry writing, so once I took an Advertising Copywriting class, I realized I liked that a lot more than journalism because of the more creative and short-formed structure.
I decided at the last minute to apply to this internship because I thought it was right up my alley combining writing and beauty. This internship gave me an outlet to write about things I’m really passionate about, such as skincare. It also made me realize that I do like writing when it’s about things I’m interested in and actually feel the urge to write about.
I am so happy I decided to try a beauty writing internship, and I now realize I really like it. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up being a beauty writer one day. Thank you so much to Nelly and the Boafo Beauty team for making this an amazing summer experience and sparking something within me.
Before I go I’ll leave you with this: try some new things this year. Try a new club at school, apply for a new internship or job, try some new hobbies. You never know what you’ll end up liking until you try new things.
